Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about cases and custom projects. Can't find what you need? Email David at hexform3d@gmail.com.

Do you sell mouthguards or retainers?

No. HexForm3D makes cases for mouthguards and retainers. The mouthguard or retainer itself isn't included.

How does ordering a case work?

Pick a design in the gallery, then fill out the case order form. You choose the material and colors, a design (or just a name), the name text and where it goes, the font, and smooth or textured walls. The price includes your name and any design shown. Within 5 business days, David sends you a preview of your design by text or email to approve. Payment details are confirmed when you order.

What's the difference between PLA and PCTG?

A PLA case is $15 and comes in the most colors. Clean it with warm, soapy water only. A PCTG case is $20. It’s dishwasher-safe and impact-resistant, and it stands up to harsh chemicals and high heat. Either material can have up to 4 colors per case.

How do I get my case, and how long does it take?

David designs your case and sends you a preview within 5 business days of your order. Once you approve it, your case is ready within 10 business days, and David will contact you to arrange pickup. If pickup won’t work for you, email David before you order to talk about other options.

Can I get a case design that isn't shown?

Yes. Choose “Ask about my idea” on the case order form and describe what you want, such as a country’s flag or a flower that isn’t in the gallery. It’s the same price as any other design, with the same 4-color limit.

Do you sell clicker fidgets or other products?

Clicker fidgets are coming soon, with more products to follow. If you're planning a larger or special clicker order, send David the design, colors, quantity, and any date you need them by through a custom project request. Special orders have a minimum of 10 per model, and David will go over the price with you before anything is confirmed.

How do custom projects work?

There’s no one-size-fits-all process, because every piece is different. David handles each request himself. He starts with what the piece needs to do, then how it should look, then the material, and prices it last, once he knows he can make it. Nothing goes into production until you’ve agreed on the work, price, and timing.

Is 3D modeling included in the price?

No. 3D modeling adds to the cost. Design time is billed at $75 per hour, on top of the cost of making the piece. Your quote includes the design time David expects the project to take.

Can David work from a part I already have?

Often, yes. It depends on the part. The best option is for David to take the part home for a short time, or to come see it on site. If you’re not local, he usually works from measurements you take yourself, so careful measurements and clear photos help him get the fit right.

What if there’s a problem with my order?

Every case is made to order. If there's a problem with your order, contact David at hexform3d@gmail.com and he'll work it out with you.
